2020 Kia Forte Reviews

The new Kia Forte makes an impression on the market with its sporty styling, slick interior design, and class-leading warranty. It's also among the most reliable, affordable vehicles in this market.

Price: $20,950 - $26,500 (including destination charge)

The Kia Forte is comfortable and offers plenty of storage space. You can carry large items without having your back or legs hurt by the trunk's size.

Its interior is well-designed and looks great. There are ample space for both front and rear seats. It's also easy to customize and access important features through the available infotainment system, which has a responsive touch screen and intuitive controls.

Exterior: The Forte's styling combines Kia's Stinger-inspired designs with more traditional, conservative looks. Its sleek profile, narrowed hood, and low roofline make it easier to see outside the car while driving.

You can choose from FE, LXS or EX trims for this compact sedan. The base model features a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine with 147 horsepower. It can reach 60 mph within 8.7 seconds.

Performance enthusiasts will enjoy the standard Forte GT’s 1.6-liter turbocharged fourcylinder, which produces 201 horsepower. While it doesn't have the punch of the Honda Civic Si, it is a welcome boost to the Forte's power output.

Driving performance: The Forte is easy to drive and offers precise steering. Upper-trim models have a three-mode steering system, which allows you to adjust the effort required to maneuver traffic.

Safety: The Kia Forte comes with an impressive array of active safety options, including forward collision warning with automatic emergencybraking, lane maintain assist, and smart-cruise control. It earned four stars in the NHTSA's crash test and a five-star rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Driver comfort: The Forte offers a spacious, comfortable interior that can comfortably accommodate a 6-footer. It is also among the largest compact sedans of its class.

Ride: The Forte doesn't ride as smoothly on broken pavement as other vehicles its class. The standard suspension can feel bumpy on uneven roads because it is stiff.

Although it's not as thrilling to drive as the Civic Si Civic, the Forte's engine is more than sufficient for daily driving.

Reliability: The Forte is built in the United States, and it comes with Kia's industry-leading ten-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. It also comes with five years of bumper–to-bumper coverage and 24-hour roadside assistance.

Forte will add two special editions to its lineup for 2020, the FE GT Special Edition as well as the EX Special Edition. Both models offer unique features like two-tone leatherette upholstery in red and an upgrade to the premium infotainment software. The EX Special Edition adds a gloss-black spoiler and a powered moonroof. It also features a premium audio system with 10 speakers and a wireless charging pad.
